Welcome to tulamben
Tulamben is best known for its diving and snorkeling sites along the coast.
Just a couple of meters away from the beach, you can find the USS Liberty wreck, a WW2 ship. The wreck is fully populated by all kinds of marine life, big and small, in all colors and shapes. A must for underwater and nature lovers!
Being one of the driest parts of the Island, the locals are very dependent on what they can get from the ocean. Because of the recent tourism boost, life standards have improved a lot for the local community, but the area remains one of the poorest in Bali.
Water in Tulamben isn’t always available for everybody and a lot of villages up on the hills have to get their water daily, by foot, 20 minutes down, at the wells. Some local and international organizations are currently in the process of getting water distributed to these villages.
